The Brooklyn neighborhood is home to the most over-the-top Christmas light decorations with life-sized Santas, sleighs and snowmen taking over the neighborhood’s homes. Some houses even bump Christmas carols from loudspeakers. Join a group of NYSN members and friend as we explore this holiday tradition in Brooklyn.
How it works:

• The group will meet in front of the Playwright Irish Pub at from 6-6:30pm for socializing and drinks.
• We will leave and take the R train to 86th Street in Brooklyn. From there it is a 15 minute walk to the lights (you may also meet the group at the 86th Street station around 7:30 pm).
• We will take in all the festivities and spectacle of the displays then head back to a local café for food and drinks.

Dress Code: Dress for the weather
What is it is bad weather? We will cancel or reschedule and offer credits or refunds.
Important Note: There will be a lot of walking on hilly streets. Wear comfortable shoes
How will I know where to meet the group? We will send very specific information with host name and contact info when you register.
Ages: All ages are welcome, however the group will be mostly adults
Why am I paying $$ for something I can do for free? You are welcome to tour the neighborhood for free, we are charging for the experience of bringing the group together to socialize and enjoy an activity together
Non-Refundable unless canceled or rescheduled.

Illness Protocols/Refunds
This event is nonrefundable unless canceled. If you have tested positive for Covid or are sick with any ailment that prohibits you from attending, we will do our best to provide you with credits for select future events with a copy of your positive test results or doctor’s note. Credits may or may not equal the cost of the event missed and may only be applied to events selected by NYSN.

At this event you will be going on a series of about 10 to 15 mini dates with each date lasting about 5 minutes each. Women stay seated and the men rotate from table to table until they meet each woman.

IMPORTANT NOTE: TO SIGN UP, DO NOT CLICK THE "RSVP AND PAY ORGANIZER DIRECTLY BUTTON. THAT DOES NOT GET YOU A TICKET/SPOT. YOU HAVE TO CLICK THE LINK TO THE EVENTBRITE PAGE AND PURCHASE A TICKET THERE. PRICE GOES UP AS EVENT TIME APPROACHES AND MAY SELL OUT SO GET YOUR TICKET ON EVENTBRITE ASAP.

You will get a match card and at the end of each mini-date you'll indicate whether or not you'd like to see the person again. At the end of the evening you will hand your match card in to the event host. If you both select each other, we will send you each others' email address the next day so you can set up a future date! Within 24 hrs, you'll receive an email with the first name and email of your mutual matches. We do not give out names or contact info unless there is a mutual match.

THIS IS A MULTI-MEETUP GROUP EVENT. 15 OTHER GROUPS HAVE ALSO BEEN INVITED SO WE'LL BE SURE TO HAVE A GOOD SIZE TURNOUT. THE RSVP LIST ON MEETUP REFLECTS ONLY A SMALL PORTION OF ATTENDEES.

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?
While we don't have a strict dress code we ask that you please look neat/presentable. What you wear to work is likely fine.
CAN I PAY AT THE EVENT DOOR?
We do not accept payment at the event door. You must pre-pay online.
WHEN WILL I GET MY MATCHES EMAILED TO ME?
We will email you matches within 48 hours after the event.
IS THERE A REFUND POLICY?
If you need to cancel, please email us and we can transfer you to a future event. However we do not offer transfers if you cancel on the day of the event or don't show up.
